UNC Blue Sky Innovations at the Reese Lab is pioneering new ways to educate and inform people through experiential learning. OPEN POSITIONS

UNC Blue Sky Innovations at the Reese Lab is looking for students to work on projects including VR Interactive Games, Robot Applications, Air-driven Bots, and AR Apps for delivery into the Metaverse and the real world. These positions are for SUMMER/FALL 2023.

 

Current Student Positions:

— UI/UX Designer

Seeking UI/UX designer to create user-friendly interfaces that enable users to understand how to use complex technical products. UX design is about the experience's overall feel, while UI design is about how the product's interfaces look and function. UX design is about identifying and solving user problems, and UI design is about creating intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, interactive interfaces.

 

— Front-end Developer

Seeking front-end developer with experience in JavaScript and Advanced HTML/CSS. The ability to work from the command line is required.

 

— Back-end Developer

Seeking back-end developer with experience in Python, Node.js, and Unix/Linux. The ability to work from the command line is required and experience in AWS is ideal.

 

— VR/3D Game Developer

Seeking video game designers and developers with experience in Unity or Unreal Engine to work with 3D artists to design and develop an interactive VR simulation/game experience. Experience in VR and gaming is ideal but not required.

 

— Project Manager and Product Driver

Seeking an organized and creative student with experience in design thinking or human-centered design to help lead multiple products and keep them on track. A large part of this role is project management of multiple resources and people so strong communication skills and being organized are vital. Having technical knowledge is helpful but not required. Projects will range from Ai to VR to mobile and web.

 

— Lab Technology Manager

Seeking an organized and technically oriented student who loves learning and figuring out new things. Work with the latest VR, AR, and drone equipment and keep the lab up-to-date with the newest gear.

 

Requirements:

— Must have proven experience with examples

— Strong communication skills

— Work 10–15 hours per week during the Academic Year (30-40 hours per week during the Summer)

— Current UNC Student

 

Compensation:

Pay is $15 per hour for 10 hours of work per week, not to exceed 20 hours during the academic year (30-40 hours per week during the Summer). Fellows also have 24-hour access to the Reese Lab creative space, computers, and equipment.
